Street Sport Compact by:

Street Sport Compact is a heads-up class for front, rear and all wheel drive, small engine street vehicles. Suspension must be stock style. No fabricated chassis cars. Legal power combinations include turbo chargers and / or nitrous oxide with different weight breaks for parity. All entries must compete on a 26 x 8.50 or smaller D.O.T. tire.


LADDER:
Pro Ladder based on qualifying order (1 vs.16, 2 vs.15, etc.)

RUN FORMAT:
All-run, no limit on car count.

STAGING PROCEDURE:

Blue light active, courtesy stage. This means pre-staging and staging by one car is NOT allowed unless it is on a bye run. The allowed procedure is both competitors pre-stage, then one stages and the other stages within seven seconds. Failure to stage within the time limit results in automatic red light for the delaying party.



BYE RUNS:
All competitors must take the tree and complete a full pass under their own power on a bye run.

SCALE POLICY:

All USP Racers will scale after every pass. Failure to scale during qualifying means the run will not count. Failure to scale during eliminations will result in disqualification and reinstatement of the losing competitor, providing they also scale and make minimum weight.



Class Guidelines:

BODY / APPEARANCE:
Must retain original wheel base and profile. No one piece front ends.

LETTERING / DECALS:

Generally limited to windows, but exceptions may be made based on the intention of the lettering. One sponsor sticker allowed on body, max size 12” x 36”. Front lower right windshield must be cleared for class sponsor sticker.



FIREWALL:
Must retain factory firewall, no exceptions.

INTERIOR:

Dash, stock type steering column, and seats must be in stock locations. Aftermarket or street rod style columns allowed. Door panels must be covered or painted. Stock type pedals in stock location are required. A stock style dashboard with instruments required. Aftermarket instruments allowed.



SEAT LOCATION:
Two front seats with upholstery required. Racing seats OK. Back seat may be deleted if it interferes with roll bar.

WINDOWS:
Must be operational and made of glass, no lexan.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION:

OEM chassis, with complete OEM floor pan and firewall, mandatory. Wheel tubs, back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc. prohibited. Suspension must retain original configuration. Rear-drive conversions prohibited. Engine must be located in OEM location for body used. Suspension components must remain in stock locations. Direct bolt on replacements allowed. Gross deviation from stock geometry or intention will be penalized. No wheelie bars.



DRIVE TRAIN:

Production standard and automatic transmissions OK. No aftermarket gear sets or “Dog Boxes” allowed. Transmission adaptation allowed with weight penalty. All shifts must be made manually by the driver, no electronic or pnuematic shifters allowed, unless factory. No Lenco, Liberty, G-force, or other aftermarket modular style trans allowed.


ENGINE:

Any production based engine allowed. Max displacement for 4-cyl is 2.6L, max displacement for 5/6-cyl is 3.9L. Cross breeding of engine and vehicle allowed, but engine must not touch firewall. There are no restrictions on internal modifications. No dry sump oiling systems allowed, unless it is factory original and only stock parts are used.



CYLINDER HEADS:
Production or production replacement cylinder heads allowed.

EXHAUST:
Mufflers required. Modification or removal of internals not allowed. Exhaust must exit behind the rear tires of the vehicle.

FUEL / FUEL SYSTEM:
Gasoline, Ethanol, and Methanol allowed with different weight allowances.

INDUCTION:
NITROUS OXIDE:

Limited to dual “wet” fogger nozzles or one “port-injection” fogger system. Maximum two fuel and two nitrous solenoids only. Purge system for each stage allowed, but must exit outside engine compartment. Nitrous may be used in conjunction with a super charger or turbocharger with a weight penalty. Nitrous electronic controllers are permitted.



TURBO CHARGER:

Maximum 70mm (2.755 inches) where the maximum compressor wheel diameter may not exceed 70.5 mm (2.775 inches) measured at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing; the compressor housing inducer diameter may not exceed 71.75mm (2.824 inches) measured at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing. Compressor wheel inducer contours of wheel may not be stepped, notched, or clipped; e.g., the contours must be continuous features from the inducer to the wheel exducer. All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing are prohibited. Nitrous may used in conjunction with a turbocharger, with a substantial weight penalty. See weight adder below.



STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
All entries required to have working headlights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals.

TIRES:
Max allowable drive tires are 26 x 8.50 or smaller D.O.T. tires. Smaller radial or bias ply tires allowed, but must be D.O.T. approved.

STREET SPORT COMPACT WEIGHT GUIDE:
These are base weights, please make sure to check the add weight section below. All minimum weights include driver.

FWD 4-cylinder (max 2.6L), 1-power adder: 2750 lbs
FWD 5-6 cylinder (max 3.9L), 1-power adder: 2950 lbs
RWD 4-cylinder (max 2.6L), 1-power adder: 3000 lbs
RWD 5-6 cylinder (max 3.9L), 1-power adder: 3250 lbs
RWD 2-rotor, 1-power adder: 2950 lbs
AWD 4-cylinder (max 2.6L), 1-power adder: 3100 lbs
AWD 6-cylinder (max 3.9L), 1-power adder: 3400 lbs

Weight adders:
50 lbs: for non-stock transmission adaptation
100 lbs: gross deviation from factory geometry suspension
100 lbs: for use of Ethanol or Methanol as fuel or intercooler.
300 lbs: use of nitrous-oxide with a turbo or super-charger. Intercooler sprayers will be considered as having nitrous present in vehicle.

CHEATING AND PENALTIES FOR CHEATING:
<0P Cheating will result in mandatory expulsion from event, loss of any points earned at event and forfeiture of any winnings. Mandatory one race suspension with a $500 reinstatement fee. Any competitor protesting another must post a $100 protest fee that is non-refundable.



CONTINGENCY:
Only registered USP-Racing members are eligible for contingency benefits.

YEAR END POINTS STANDINGS:

2007 racers will be able to run their earned class numbers. Example: Mark Weadick SSC-2. 2008 racers will only be eligible for the points race if they are a registered USP-Racing member.



DECISION MAKING DURING RACE DAY:
Will be final and based solely on discretion of the race director.
