Hot Street Presented by:
Paddock Import Services
Hot Street is a heads-up class for cars and trucks. Rear suspension may be stock-style or ladder bar (no back half or chassis cars, no front to rear wheel drive conversions). This class is for naturally-aspirated, non-power adder cars only. No nitrous, superchargers, or turbochargers. All entries compete on 29.5 x 10.50 slick, 30 x 12.50 x 15 E.T. Street, or 295/65R15 drag radial or smaller tires.
Ladder: Pro Ladder based on qualifying order (1 vs.16, 2 vs.15, etc.) Run Format: All-run, no limit on car count. Staging Procedure: Blue light active, courtesy stage. This means pre-staging and staging by one car is NOT allowed unless it is on a bye run. The allowed procedure is both competitors pre-stage, then one stages and the other stages within seven seconds. Failure to stage within the time limit results in automatic red light for the delaying party.
Scale Policy: All USP Racers will scale after every pass. Failure to scale during qualifying means the run will not count. Failure to scale during eliminations will result in disqualification and reinstatement of the losing competitor, providing they also scale and make minimum weight.
Front Suspension: All vehicles must retain stock style front suspension. Components must remain in stock locations. Direct bolt on a-arms permitted. Tubular K-members that are a direct bolt in are allowed. Alston, AJE, Fatman and Smith Race Craft, bolt in front suspension kits allowed.
Rear Suspension: Stock-Style or ladder bars allowed. No aftermarket four links. To be considered stock suspension all components must be in stock locations. Aftermarket control arms / springs allowed. Frame notching for tire clearance allowed. Leaf springs may be moved in for tire clearance only. Shocks may be moved inwards for tire clearance only. Gross deviation from stock geometry will not receive weight break. Weld in anti roll bars are legal.
Drive Train:
Automatic transmissions originally produced by any automobile manufacturer are permitted. Transmission to engine adaptors are allowed.
Manual Trans: Manual trans permitted (stock or clutch-less Jerico). Lenco, G-Force, Liberty, Clutch-flites or Clutch-hydros are not allowed. All shifts must be made manually, by the driver, without the aide of electronic or pneumatic devices.
There is a 575 CI limit on this class. Any production based engine may be used. No restrictions on internal engine modifications. Crossbreeding engines with different manufacturer cars is acceptable, but stock engine bay and firewall must be retained. Cylinder Heads: Two valve per cylinder unless originally equipped with three or four. Splayed, symmetrical, or canted valve small block allowed. See weight breaks. Hemispherical heads prohibited unless factory or factory style replacement. One spark plug per cylinder max. All billet cylinder heads prohibited.
Maximum drive tires are 29.5 x 10.50 x 15 M/T Slicks, 30 x 12.50 x 15 M/T ET Streets or 295/65R15 M/T Drag Radials. Same size or smaller alternative tires permitted, call with your specific combo if you have questions.
Weight Example:
Say you had a first generation Camaro with a 540 CI motor and 18-degree Dart Heads, single carb, power glide trans and ladder bar suspension. Your base weight would be 3350 pounds. You would add 20% of the engine cubic inch for the cylinder heads, then subtract 10% for the pre-74 vehicle and 10% for a single carb. In this case the adders and deducts cancel each other out leaving the cars minimum race-ready weight, including driver, at 3350 pounds. If you have questions regarding your particular combination please call Scott at US Performance. 970-669-3098.
All Hot Street racers should expect to have their motors pumped before the first race of the year. A lottery will be established for subsequent races to randomly check competitors. Winner and runner-up should be prepared to be checked after each race. Cheating will result in mandatory expulsion from event, loss of any points earned at event and forfeiture of any winnings. Mandatory one race suspension with a $500 reinstatement fee. Any competitor protesting another must post a $100 protest fee that is non-refundable.
