Pro Sport Compact is a heads-up class for front, rear and all wheel drive, small engine vehicles. Suspension must be stock style. No fabricated chassis cars. Legal power combinations include turbo chargers and / or nitrous oxide with different weight breaks for parity. All entries must compete on a 28 x 10.50 slick or smaller tire.
Blue light active, courtesy stage. This means pre-staging and staging by one car is NOT allowed unless it is on a bye run. The allowed procedure is both competitors pre-stage, then one stages and the other stages within seven seconds. Failure to stage within the time limit results in automatic red light for the delaying party.
All USP Racers will scale after every pass. Failure to scale during qualifying means the run will not count. Failure to scale during eliminations will result in disqualification and reinstatement of the losing competitor, providing they also scale and make minimum weight.
Generally limited to windows, but exceptions may be made based on the intention of the lettering. One sponsor sticker allowed on body, max size 12” x 36”. Front lower right windshield must be cleared for class sponsor sticker.
Dash, stock type steering column, and seats must be in stock locations. Aftermarket or street rod style columns allowed. Door panels must be covered or painted. Stock type pedals in stock location are required. A stock style dashboard with instruments required. Aftermarket instruments allowed.
Production standard and automatic transmissions OK. Aftermarket gear sets in stock trans case OK. Transmission adaptation allowed with weight penalty. No Lenco, Liberty, G-force, or other aftermarket modular style trans allowed.
Any production based engine allowed. Max displacement for 4-cyl is 2.6L, max displacement for 5/6-cyl is 3.9L. Cross breeding of engine and vehicle allowed, but engine must not touch firewall. There are no restrictions on internal modifications. No dry sump oiling systems allowed, unless it is factory original and only stock parts are used .
Limited to dual “wet” fogger nozzles or one “port-injection” fogger system. Maximum two fuel and two nitrous solenoids only. Purge system for each stage allowed, but must exit outside engine compartment. Nitrous may be used in conjunction with a super charger or turbocharger with a weight penalty. Nitrous electronic controllers are permitted.
Maximum 80mm (3.149 inches) where the maximum compressor wheel diameter may not exceed 80.5 mm (3.169 inches) measured at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing; the compressor housing inducer diameter may not exceed 81.75mm (3.218 inches) measured at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing. Compressor wheel inducer contours of wheel may not be stepped, notched, or clipped; e.g., the contours must be continuous features from the inducer to the wheel exducer. All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing are prohibited. Nitrous may used in conjunction with a turbocharger, with a substantial weight penalty. See weight adder below.
Cheating will result in mandatory expulsion from event, loss of any points earned at event and forfeiture of any winnings. Mandatory one race suspension with a $500 reinstatement fee. Any competitor protesting another must post a $100 protest fee that is non-refundable.
2007 racers will be able to run their earned class numbers. Example: Eric Stockton PSC-1. 2008 racers will only be eligible for the points race if they are a registered USP-Racing member.
